The subjects handled are especially waste, water, air, noise, the soil, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), slag heaps, quarries, the forest, the hunt, packaging, the agricultural environment, etc., and in addition, access to information concerning the environment, cessation procedures and environmental management (ISO, EMAS, etc.).

Environmental law involves besides a section on "financial incentives" and taxation (subsidies, ecotaxes, etc.).
