Waste

Waste is a complex subject, governed by European regulations, transposed by the various member states into their own internal regulations, which in Belgium are mainly regional.

Waste is of many different kinds (hazardous waste, inert waste, construction waste, household waste, toxic waste, etc.) and involves many different players (producers, collectors, recyclers, transporters, holders, etc.).

Until recently, most waste was disposed of. Then came the principles of waste prevention and reduction, and the desire to increase waste recovery. Today, with the advent of the circular economy, the role and nature of waste have evolved considerably, as has its economic value. Waste regulations reflect this complexity, and are constantly evolving.

HSP has many years' experience in this field, and is fully conversant with the applicable texts and regulations, their particularities and difficulties. Our members are able to assist you in your activities involving waste, from an administrative (permits, authorizations, registrations, appeals, etc.), criminal (inspections, offences, prosecutions, etc.) and civil (contracts, tenders, etc.) point of view.
