Charles-Hubert Born

I have been an associate lawyer with HSP for 22 years, and am also a professor at UCL in public law, environmental law and town planning law.

My areas of expertise range from environmental law (international, European and domestic) and town planning law to rural law, with particular expertise in biodiversity law. I publish regularly in these fields and direct research at UCL on these topics.

As a full-time lecturer at UCL, my activities are limited to occasional contributions to high-stakes cases on points where my expertise is of interest, both at the advisory stage - for example, in setting up environmentally sensitive projects or participating in public inquiries - and at the litigation stage - when the arguments put forward require in-depth experience of certain points of law, notably biodiversity. I also collaborate in the drafting of bids for consultancy contracts or for customer training courses.
